Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, VA

A diverse, welcoming community of open hearts and minds since 1948

Our Beloved Community

    Welcome to UUCA!

We gather here with hearts and minds open to truth. From one another and from many spiritual traditions we learn how to walk together in the ways of love, building a radically inclusive religious home and working for justice in the neighborhood and the world. In our religious education classes, our kids are inspired to ask questions and to think.

Visit us online and at the church too. We hope to see you!

Highlights

Sun. Service Nov. 22: (Left) Rev. Linda Olson Peebles and Rev. Mary Ganz set a table with (Right) children from our congregation, with bread baked by UUCA families. Rev. Mary's sermon,"Breaking Bread While Breathing," discussed the connection between the food we eat, particularly meat, and its affect on climate and world hunger. She asked us to learn about ethical eating and to consider dropping meat from one meal a day.

Coming Nov. 29: Voices in the Wilderness

The Christian season of Advent begins today. What can this mean for Unitarian Universalists of differing faith traditions and practices?

UUCA Stands With Dar Al-Hijrah Mosque After Fort Hood Tragedy.

The Falls Church mosque and its members have been under siege from many directions, receiving unwanted and unmerited attention because of the very tragic shooting at Ft. Hood, Texas. Our faith teaches us that it is wrong to demonize a whole group because of the actions of a few. Please see the full statement from our ministers.

Absolutely - Anyone can come - We have to have a discussion about the name because there is a lot of confusion out in the congregation about the name and where it came from etc. The name is not meant to be exclusionary.

I'd love to read Cornel West's writings. Perhaps others would too. We could do it thru ADORE or in addition to the regular monthly meetings.
